Job Summary

The Operations Coordinator assists Front of House/Box Office Manager in carrying out operations associated with guest services in EMPAC. The incumbent is the initial point person to assist institute departments and external rental clients with event coordination held in the facility. The incumbent coordinates event staff whose duties include but are not limited to: event building preparation, ticket sales, guest services (hosts, coat check, tours, Information Desk, signage, program distribution etc.); trains students and staff in assigned areas; and maintains administrative files and details associated with every campus and external rental activity in the facility. The Operations Coordinator will also back up the Artist Services Specialist when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of related experience including guest services or event coordination or relevant combination of experience, education and/or training
  • Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and other specialized software and applications.
  • Ability to perform advanced transactional financial functions.
  • Ability to compose correspondence and reports
  • Excellent planning, coordination, organizational and effective time management skills
  • Ability to solve problems involving multiple variables and solutions in standard and unique situations
  • Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong ability and knowledge of field specific operational/administrative functions
  • Excellent attention to detail

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Knowledge of performing arts
  • A valid and clean US driving license


Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required


No travel


Driving a 12 passenger van may be possible for candidates with a valid US driver license and a pattern of responsible driving
