Job Summary

The Associate Director, Application Development and Business Support provides leadership and vision for the business analysis, development, support and maintenance of campus enterprise and administrative applications, including the Banner ERP, Institute Advancement’s Advance system, the Institute data warehouse and several other administrative systems. This includes customer support for system enhancements and day-to-day operations for users, system integration and development and rollout of technical solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology or relevant field
  • Five (5) years of professional experience with progressive responsibility in information technology field, including a minimum of two (2) years in a demonstrated leadership capacity managing technical staff

Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in computer science, information technology, or relevant field
  • Professional experience with progressive responsibility Application Development and/or Business Support
  • Previous experience in a higher education environment

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to manage both information systems special projects and ongoing operations.
  • Ability to plan and manage resources, and supervise staff.
  • Ability to manage and direct problem resolution processes and build consensus among stakeholders to resolve conflicting interests or needs.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Planning, organizing and effective time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of programming languages and development tools on various platforms, as well as integrations with third party vendors utilizing vendor APIs and web services.
  • Knowledge of enterprise software systems such as ERP systems, advancement systems, etc.
  • Solid project management experience and knowledge of best practices.

Shift

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Travel

Occasional overnight travel may be required (10% or less)

Driving

Incidental driving possible, but not required
