Job Summary

The Administrative Specialist provides administrative, student and budgetary support to the Advising and Learning Assistance Center (ALAC), and will assist in the day to day operation of ALAC; including high interaction with students, staff members and other divisions or schools to facilitate exchange of information. The Specialist will serve students in a wide variety of activities that include administrative support for transfer credit evaluations, student advisement, committee meetings, purchasing activities, expense accounting, and a variety of special events (i.e., Meet Your Advisor.).

Minimum Qualifications

High School/Equivalent and three (3) years of related experience or relevant combination of experience, education and/or training

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite or similar word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, email and database applications
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional and effective manner
  • Ability to anticipate obstacles and recommend solutions
  • Ability to work with sensitive information in a confidential and diplomatic manner
  • Ability to work with a wide range of diverse internal and external constituencies
