Job Summary

The Senior Advancement Officer Corporate Relations reports to AVP Development and Fundraising and is responsible for the identification, cultivation and solicitation of Corporations and Corporate Foundations, to generate revenue gifts-in-kind for the Institute. Revenue is defined as philanthropy and sponsored research.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and seven (7) or more years experience in Corporate Relations

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree 
Experience at other Top 50 research academic institutions 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work with faculty and to translate very technical information into a “value proposition" to non-technical external audiences and corporate prospects.
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Rensselaer and the major initiatives
• Ability to set priorities while also contributing to team effort in Institute Advancement.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A strong organizational skills
• Flexibility in dealing with a wide range of business representatives
• Ability to process information quickly and accurately
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
• Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to work in a team environment

Shift

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Travel

Travel is a significant component of the position (greater than 25%)

Driving

Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use
