Job Summary

The Client Support Analyst III provides support and maintenance of complex client technology, software, and services for the Rensselaer community. The Client Support Analyst III works closely with other IT staff to provide training and helps to develop and mentor other analysts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or another information systems related field
  • 4 or more relevant professional work experience or equivalent years in  Computer Science, IT or another information systems related field,
  • A relevant combination of education, training and experience may be substituted for the above qualifications.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Current and significant support knowledge of common client hardware, software, applications and services commonly in use within higher-ed setting such as computers, phones, Windows and Macintosh operating systems, office suite, design and development, data analysis, and audio-video software, desktop support, consultation, printing, file, license management, asset management and software deployment services
  • High level of understanding of unique business processes and functions
  • Significant understanding of common business processes and functions and client needs within Organizations
  • In-depth technical knowledge of common software packages in use within a university setting.
  • Ability to analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot issues at a high level
  • Ability to develop and deliver training to individuals at all levels
  • Ability to develop technical documentation and convey knowledge and technical information to clients

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $60,000 – $64,500

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
