Job Summary

The Program Coordinator assists the Program Director with the successful development, implementation, continuity and sustainability of the Rensselaer Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP). The Coordinator assists with the recruitment and on-boarding of program participants and with the development and scheduling of programs and workshops; provides support in the preparation, accuracy and maintenance of student records and evaluations as required by the grant; and works with the Program Director to develop the annual program reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in STEM or other related field
  • 3 or more years relevant experience
  • Valid US driver’s license

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work with diverse populations including middle and high school students (grades 7-12), parents and guardians
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects with multiple deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and follow up on constituent issues as needed
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

• Technical proficiency, including; the ability to use web authoring tools to update web pages/sites for the program

Shift

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Travel

Occasional overnight travel may be required (10% or less)

Driving

Incidental driving possible, but not required

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $20.00 - $24.16 / hr

This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
