Job Summary:

The Associate Director, Campus Engagement and Visit Experience leads the full campus visit and yield event operation, the point at which admitted students most often decide to enroll. The position brings tours, information sessions, open houses, and yield events under a single owner, with attention to the quality and consistency of the visitor experience and to the data that links visits to deposits. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Admissions, the Associate Director leads the campus engagement strategy and supervises the staff who support it, with the goal of raising yield among admitted students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, enrollment management, campus visit programs, event management, student services, or a related field, including:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing large-scale events, campus visit programs, or recruitment initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems, event management platforms, and data reporting tools.
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, vendors, and event logistics.

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualification:

Valid driver’s license and a pattern of responsibility consistent with safe and responsible driving practices.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of undergraduate admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, and student engagement practices.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in campus visits, enrollment marketing, student engagement, and event management.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic campus engagement and yield initiatives aligned with institutional enrollment goals.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-informed recommendations to improve visitor and enrollment outcomes.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and staff development skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex logistics.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across campus.
  • Ability to establish collaborative partnerships with faculty, staff, students, and external vendors.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, event management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, solve problems creatively, and maintain attention to detail while delivering a high-quality visitor experience.

Representative Job Duties:

  • Plan and direct the full campus visit program, including daily visits, tours, information sessions, and group programs.
  • Design and lead yield events for admitted students, on campus and in regional settings.
  • Set and maintain standards for the quality and consistency of the visitor experience.
  • Track and analyze the data that connects visits and events to applications, deposits, and enrollment, and adjust the program accordingly.
  • Coordinate with recruitment, operations, marketing, and campus partners to deliver a seamless visitor experience.
  • Manage the visit and event budget and the related vendor and logistics arrangements.

Shift:

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Travel:

Occasional overnight travel may be required(10% or less)

Driving:

Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use preferred

Starting Salary/Rate:

Expected hiring range: $71,500 - $89,000

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.

The Business Support Analyst (BSA) IV leverages complex technology and applications to meet organization needs by providing technical support and business solutions for day to day operations and efficient and effective utilization of Institute enterprise applications. The BSA IV is responsible for continual evaluation and system improvement, application deployment and training, upgrade coordination, system troubleshooting, and determination of appropriate integration points.
