Job Summary:

Join Rensselaer Polytechnic's Human Resources Portfolio as the Director, Workforce Systems & Analytics.

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for leveraging data and technology to drive organizational success? Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is seeking a visionary Director, Workforce Systems & Analytics to spearhead the transformation of its human capital management strategies. Based in Troy, NY, you will be at the forefront of shaping the employee experience and driving workforce optimization across the renowned institution.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance for HR system implementation, optimization, and workforce analytics to support organizational goals and drive human resources department strategies. As the technical and analytical leader of the department, you will champion the use of technology and analytics to support human capital improvement efforts and enhance the overall employee experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, human resources management, business administration, or related field
  • Five (5) years of progressive HR systems related experience with a track record of leveraging technical expertise to improve processes and drive system performance

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Higher Education
  • Experience using an enterprise-wide system such as Ellucian Banner
  • Basic programming skills 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required to accomplish work through delegated action or cross-functional work teams or committees
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct gap analysis and provide innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Familiarity with HCM reporting and analytics, as well as Business Intelligence tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) and the functional application for HR system processes
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making assessments for decisions
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
  • Ability to work independently and with a team

Key Responsibilities:

Your Key Responsibilities:

1. HR System Implementation and Optimization: Lead the assessment, implementation, and optimization of HR systems, ensuring seamless integration and maximizing operational efficiency.

2. Workforce Analytics: Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to provide valuable workforce-related insights to HR leaders, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and key stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making.

3. Strategic Guidance: Collaborate with HR leaders and stakeholders to develop and execute data-driven strategies that align with organizational goals and drive workforce optimization.

4. Technology Advocacy: Champion the adoption of emerging technologies and analytical methodologies to enhance HR processes, improve decision-making, and foster a culture of innovation.

5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment on HR initiatives and analytics projects.

Shift:

Business Hours: Monday - Friday

Travel:

Local travel between campus locations only

Driving:

Incidental driving possible, but not required

Starting Salary/Rate:

Expected hiring range: $135,000 - $150,000

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
