Job Summary

The Research and Public Health Initiatives Program Manager is responsible for development, growth, visibility, and management of research and educational programs and public health projects associated with but not limited to Women’s Health and associated chronic diseases at the Center for Engineering and Precision Medicine (CEPM). S/he will organize events, and multidisciplinary focus groups, cultivate partnerships with corporations, individuals, funding agencies and foundations necessary to establish funded research relationships. S/he will develop and execute marketing strategies and messaging to effectively communicate and market the Center’s research capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in MBA or MPH degree

1 or more years in Minimum of one year of experience in project management and marketing programs associated with public health, biomedical research or biomedical industry.

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Certification in Certificate in Project Leadership or Management

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Project Development, Management and Leadership
  • Project Execution and Reporting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Excellent presentation and marketing skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Experience in event management and organization of focus groups
  • Experience in writing white papers, grant proposals and letter of intent
  • Development of online and written promotional and marketing materials
  • Experience in curating and developing online presence on social media (LinkedIn etc.)

Job Duties

  • Write white papers and create promotional materials to engage a diverse array of funding sources (federal, state, foundation, private) and faculty in order to increase funding for CEPM research including but not limited to Women’s Health and its associated areas (Chronic diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, etc.)
  • Manage and grow project and activities associated and funded through the Mary Humiston Innovation Fund in CEPM for Women's Health
  • Organize meetings and interdisciplinary researchers from RPI and Mount Sinai and assist in the development of large proposals, organize events and meetings in NYC (example Women’s Health Forum at NY Academy)
  • Host focus groups at CEPM to increase the engagement of alumni and industries in areas associated with but not limited to Women’s Health (see first bullet above)
  • Assist in the development, publicity and recruitment of students for the new PhD, Professional MS program, and future certificate programs
  • Assist in increasing undergraduate enrollment by curating, developing and showcasing experiential learning opportunities in research areas at CEPM (such as Women’s Health and associated chronic diseases) for current and prospective undergraduates at CEPM, Mt. Sinai and other NYC academic establishments

Shift

Business Hours: Monday - Friday

Travel

This position is based in NYC at CEPM (619 W 54th St. NY). Candidates should be comfortable traveling to the RPI Troy campus and within the continental US as needed, based on engaging team projects and evolving business priorities.

Driving

Incidental driving possible, but not required

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: NYC-based position  $100,000 - $120,000

This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
