Job Summary
|
The Assistant Director, Men’s Hockey Operations (Operations Coordinator) is responsible for assisting with the coordination and support of all aspects of the RPI men’s ice hockey program to ensure efficient, compliant, and successful operations. Responsibilities span from game day logistics, video preparation, travel planning, equipment ordering, practice scheduling, and administrative duties. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency with athletic administration software, and clear communication with coaches, student-athletes, staff, and campus partners.
The Assistant Coordinator of Hockey Operations is a fixed-term position running from December 8, 2025, through March 27, 2026.

Minimum Qualifications
|
Education and Experience Requirements:

Associate’s degree or two or more years of directly related work experience
-
Working knowledge of the game of ice hockey, preferably at the collegiate level
-
Ability to perform effectively in a high-demand athletic environment with tight deadlines
A relevant combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Representative Job Duties
|
- Game Day Operations - Assist with on-site coordination for all Division I men’s home and away games (locker room setup, pre-game routines, post-game protocols). Manage official game sheets, statistics input, and video exchange. Serve as point of contact for officials, arena staff, and scouts.
- Travel and Scheduling – Assist with planning and execution of team travel (air, ground, lodging, meals) and create detailed itineraries. Assist with the coordination of practice schedules, rink reservations, and equipment room access.
- Equipment assistant – Assist in the overall management of the men’s hockey team’s equipment inventory, general maintenance, and initial distribution of team gear.
- Administrative and Compliance – Assist with the management of rosters, practice schedules, and game records for the men’s hockey program. Aid in on-campus recruiting operations (Ex. campus visit coordination) in compliance with NCAA, conference, and university policies.
- 5. Communication and Administration - Serve as the liaison between coaching staff, athletic department, and campus partners in the community (media relations and community service). Maintain up-to-date manuals, SOPs. Support marketing and game day promotions as needed.
- Other duties - Perform other duties as assigned in support of the men’s hockey program and athletic department’s overall mission and operations.
