Job Summary

The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications and nominees for the Cary Wellington Chair in Business Analytics. The successful candidate will be appointed as a tenured full professor or a tenured associate professor. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree from an accredited Business School, with strong research and teaching interests in Business and Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and applications. We also encourage applicants with background in Management Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Analytics or any other analytics-related domains, with demonstrated evidence of applied analytical research in functional business and interdisciplinary areas. Candidates must demonstrate having achieved the following in a minimum of at least ten (10) years of professional academic experience: research leadership; successful mentoring and collaborating with faculty and doctoral students; evidence of strong teaching; a solid record of program building; and a willingness to play a key role in the growth, development and governance of new academic programs and research initiatives.

The Lally School has research thrusts focused on the business and societal challenges and opportunities in the data-driven economy. Candidates are expected to develop and lead research initiatives aligned with these broad thrust areas. Candidates are also expected to engage with and develop research initiatives aligned with the newly formed Data, Artificial Intelligence and Computing Institute of the university.

Strong technical skills in areas such as data management, decision intelligence, deep learning and computation are required. Econometric, analytical modeling and statistical analysis expertise would be a plus. The successful candidate will have duties that include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing and maintaining robust programs of research and scholarship, as well as service to the School of Management and to Rensselaer.
