Job Summary

The Institutional Research Analyst coordinates and facilitates collection, processing, analysis, interpretation and reporting of institutional data that is used to support decision-making processes. The incumbent will assist various constituencies in utilizing the data warehouse and other data sources to improve Institutional flow of accurate, timely information and assist Senior Leaders and other management in defining issues, obtaining information, and interpreting results.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in an analytical discipline such as mathematics, computer information systems, quantitative social science or a related field

• Experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, such as statistical data collection or data manipulation via work experience or college course work
• Experience collaborating with constituencies to establish customer needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an analytical discipline such as mathematics, computer information
systems or related field with an emphasis on quantitative research methods and statistics
• Previous experience in higher education, particularly related to institutional research
• Understanding of dimensional modeling and previous experience in supporting broad user
base in Business Intelligence environment 
 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and SPSS and/or other software used to manipulate, summarize and produce reports from multiple, large, complex data sets.
• Broad knowledge of applications such as Word or other PC word-processing programs; PowerPoint, Presentation or other PC graphics programs; and Data Warehouse software
• Knowledge of statistical and analytical survey instruments, protocol, and procedures
• Knowledge of large-scale data systems, definitions, and procedures
• Ability to plan, create, program and manage statistical computer databases across multiple hardware and operating system platforms/environments
• Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions
• Ability to analyze statistical data and generate reports, and design and administer survey instruments
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
