The Lally School of Management offers undergraduate, masters, MBA, and Ph.D. programs in several analytics related disciplines and is expecting to grow significantly in analytics offerings in marketing, supply chain and operations, quantitative finance, and information systems, among others. Lally is AACSB-accredited.

Job Summary
|
The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position starting Fall 2025, at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, from scholars who work in areas at the cutting edge of finance, quantitative finance, financial economics, and/or financial analytics, as they pertain to the digital transformation of the financial services industry.
Candidates must have a PhD degree in a relevant business discipline from an accredited university along with demonstrated evidence of producing original and innovative scholarly work with publications in premier business journals. The successful candidate will join Lally either as a tenure-track assistant professor, or as an associate professor, based on teaching and research experience and success. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate courses in basic and advanced topics in analytics for finance and accounting, as well as provide service to the Lally School of Management and to Rensselaer.
Areas of research interest can include, but are not limited to, analytics, financial economics, frontier areas in finance and accounting, natural language processing, cryptography, blockchains and machine learning in finance, robo-advising, quantitative asset management, marketplace lending, parametric insurance, audit analytics, fraud detection, privacy issues related to financial data, open architectures in banking and insurance, and compliance and regulation of financial frameworks. Experience in and deep knowledge about the financial services industry are a plus. Familiarity with expansive financial datasets and/or experimental financial platforms are also a plus.
Prospective candidates must possess demonstrated potential to produce original and innovative scholarly work of the highest possible quality with impact in the top academic journals.

Starting Salary/Rate
|
Expected hiring range:
- Assistant Professor: $160,000 - $170,000 per 9 month academic year
- Associate Professor: $190,000 - $200,000 per 9 month academic year
Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
