Job Summary
|
The Lead Library Specialist, overseeing Access Services, is responsible for executing and managing advanced library tasks at the paraprofessional level. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of library-wide operations and specialized expertise in Access Services (including circulation, stacks maintenance, student employee supervision, scheduling desk coverage, and overseeing the physical spaces). The Lead Library Specialist oversees junior staff and manages budgeting and performance within their sub-unit.

Minimum Qualifications
|
- Bachelor's Degree in Library Sciences or related field
- 4 or more years directly related experience in a library setting
- Experience must include one year of supervisory experience, experience as a lead worker, or leading projects
- One year project planning, project management and/or supervisory experience or experience as a lead worker
Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

- Ability to learn new software

Starting Salary/Rate
|
Expected hiring range: $65,000 - $70,000

This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
