Job Summary
|
The Stage Automation and Integration Engineer will be responsible for assigned aspects of stage technologies including theatrical automation, rigging and related control systems. The Stage Automation and Integration Engineer will operate and maintain existing equipment and systems, as well as design, fabricate, and integrate new technology and systems to support traditional and new media applications. These responsibilities include a full range of duties pertaining to technical and performance operation of the concert hall, theater and studio spaces as well as art exhibitions and installations throughout the entire building.

Minimum Qualifications
|
- Bachelor's Degree in Theater, Production Technology, or related field
- 5 or more years of experience in the following
- Experience in general theatre, with minimum 2 years theatrical rigging
- Experience with managing crews for production, load-ins and strikes
- Extensive knowledge and experience with typical theater rigging methods and computer-controlled rigging
Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
|
- Associates degree or minor in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related Electronic Arts degree
- ETCP certification (Entertainment Electrician, Rigger – Arena, or Rigger – Theatre)
- Experience with the mechanized systems of stage events
|
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
|
- Motivated and capable of working in a high pressure environment for fast paced productions in a four-venue performing arts center with avant-garde programming
- Self-starter, able to organize time and teams effectively to carry out a wide range of responsibilities operating on own initiative assuring consistent quality in the production schedule
- Ability to organize project timelines and crews effectively to support a wide range of artistic mediums, while delivering consistent quality in a production schedule
- Requires expertise and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and computer aspects of state-of-the-art rigging
- Experience in using computer and network technology for all aspects of design, show-control and preferably experience with the integration of interactive systems into stage events
- Experience in CAD aspects of design, and preferably experience with the mechanized systems of stage events
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software
- Ability to work in a diverse population

Starting Salary/Rate
|
Expected hiring range: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour
