Job Summary

The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Organizational Behavior starting Fall 2025, from scholars who work in areas at the cutting edge of organizational behavior and leadership.

The successful candidate will join Lally as a tenure-track assistant professor. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate courses in basic and advanced topics in organizational behavior and leadership, as well as provide service to the Lally School of Management and to Rensselaer. We are particularly seeking candidates to teach core organizational behavior and management courses that serve as an introduction to business education under the normal teaching load of 2-2.

Candidates must have a PhD degree in a relevant business discipline from an accredited business school along with demonstrated evidence of producing original and innovative scholarly work, preferably with publications in premier business journals, along with evidence of effective teaching.

The Lally School seeks candidates whose areas of research include organizational behavior and leadership. Preferred candidates will have an empirical-focused research agenda. Experience in and deep knowledge of organizational behavior in technology-based organizations would be a plus. Familiarity with experimental and research methods would also be a plus.

We are expanding Lally School’s renowned management teaching and research portfolios. The Lally School of Management provides an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment for inter-disciplinary scholarly contributions with support for research, teaching, and service. We are seeking an outstanding candidate who is driven and willing to engage with the vibrant, diverse and inclusive cross-disciplinary research community at Rensselaer.

Shift

Business Hours: Monday - Friday

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $160,000 - $170,000 per 9-month academic year

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
