Job Summary

The Sr. Audio Video Technician configures, operates, monitors, repairs and maintains AV equipment and cabling and associated services in the Registrar classrooms and for special events. The Sr. AV Technician performs advanced troubleshooting and analysis.

This is a 6-month, benefits eligible position, with the chance for an ongoing appointment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Three (3) years of related and progressively more responsible experience in audio/video recording and/or services;
    • OR an equivalent combination of experience and relevant training/education beyond high school
  • Valid US driver's license

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CTS Certification is preferred

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced understanding of AV equipment and computer hardware and software
  • Knowledge of video conferencing and streaming standards
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot AV issues
  • Computer literacy to include knowledge of Microsoft products and computer networks
  • Ability to understand and apply information in AV diagrams, schedules, and schematics
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to work independently in a variety of technical and operational situations

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Knowledge and proficiency in the following:
    • Audio technology
    • Video technology
    • Projection systems
    • Audio Visual Control systems, e.g. Extron
    • Public Address systems
    • Video Conferencing and Video Streaming
    • Setup and operations of live productions and special events

Shift

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

This is a fixed term appointment for 40 hours per week for 6 months, with the potential for a longer-term appointment.

Travel

Local travel between campus locations only

Driving

Incidental driving possible, but not required

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $20.50 - $21.75 / hr
