Job Summary

The Executive Assistant manages the daily operations and provides comprehensive administrative support to the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Experience. Under limited supervision, this position ensures the smooth functioning of the division, contributing to the advancement of the student experience. The Executive Assistant serves as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders, effectively representing the Vice Provost in communications and addressing a variety of issues and concerns as they arise. The Executive Assistant handles an array of events and special projects and demonstrates exceptional organizational and multitasking skills to support the Vice Provost for Student Experience’s strategic goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Five (5) years of experience, including two years of experience in providing executive support experience at the President, Vice President, Provost, or Executive Director level.

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in higher education
     

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office suite skill set including advanced knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Ability to work with sensitive information in a confidential and diplomatic manner
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a wide range of diverse internal and external constituencies

Shift

Business Hours: Monday - Friday

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $65,000 - $75,000

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
