Job Summary

This is a pooled posting for a series of specialized part-time positions. Union Club staff provide professional instruction to members of a specific Rensselaer Union Club and ensure that activities are being performed in a safe environment, free of dangerous situations while using proper equipment.
Union Club Staff duties are limited to safety, liability, equipment and instruction. Club officers should make all other club operation decisions. This includes budgeting, scheduling, transportation/ travel arrangements, purchasing, choosing performances, and submission of all mandatory paperwork. Any deviation from these job responsibilities is grounds for immediate dismissal.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in the instruction or coaching of student activities, recreation or a related field.

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated understanding of the needs of diverse student populations required; Work experience that includes working in a diverse context and/or realizing diversity goals is required
• Experience running or supervising a recreational/competitive club activity or similar activity in a college or university setting

Shift

Non Standard Shift: Student activities are typically scheduled during late afternoons, early evenings, or on the weekends.

Driving

Incidental driving possible for some clubs.  Valid US license required.
