Job Summary
|
The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach will oversee all operations of the Mueller Center weight room and assist the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in designing and implementing programs for all varsity athletic programs. Specifically responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of safe and effective strength and conditioning programs to improve performance of club sports, the general population, and the Men's & Women's varsity teams. The AS&C Coach will assist in the oversight of East Campus Strength and Conditioning Center during assigned shifts and during absence of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach when available.

Minimum Qualifications
|
- Bachelor's Degree in in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field
- 1 or more years experience working as a coach, assistant coach, or intern in the field of strength & conditioning
- One of the following certifications:
- NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
- NSCA Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach - OR -
- CSCCA Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified certification
Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
|
- Master’s Degree Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field from an accredited institution
- Experience training athletes of all abilities in a variety of sports
|
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
|
- Knowledge of strength training, speed, agility, flexibility, and cardivascular conditioning
- Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a variety of student-athletes
- Ability to initiate, develop and maintain contacts appropriate to an effective strength and conditioning program
- Ability to convey a clear and concise message while communicating, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems.

Starting Salary/Rate
|
Expected hiring range: $60,406 / yr
