Job Summary
|
The Director of Access and Neurodiverse Student Success provides strategic leadership, management, and operation of the Access and Neurodiverse Student Services Center ensuring an accessible academic and campus environment where neurodiverse and students with disabilities can thrive. The Director provides strategic and operational leadership in the development, implementation, and oversight of disability-related accommodations and support services in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies. The Director also advances programs and activities which anticipate the needs of students and provides services which allow Rensselaer to reach its retention and graduation goals.

Minimum Qualifications
|
- Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Education, Counseling, or Social Work
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in disability services or accessibility coordination, to include:
- Two (2) or more years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience of successful collaboration with academic affairs/ faculty colleagues
- Experience with assessment, strategic planning and budget development preferred
Strong experience with accommodation processes, case management, and use of assistive and accessible technologies.
- Experience utilizing case management software to facilitate communication and accommodations processes.
Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
|
- Deep understanding of disability-related laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the NYS Human Rights Law, and best practices in accessibility in higher education
- Requires excellent interpersonal, analytic, oral and written communication skills
- Requires strong organizational skills
- Requires excellent customer service skills
- Requires ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Requires ability to work with a diverse population
- Requires strong computer skills and knowledge
- Demonstrated skills in counseling

Starting Salary/Rate
|
Expected hiring range: $68,000 - $72,272
Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
