Job Summary:
|
Reporting to the Coordinating Research Director for Microelectronics, the Project Administrator will support operations and projects in the semiconductor area in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Research. The Project Administrator supports the operations of the Semiconductor CoLaboratory, a 6,000 sq ft office space in the Albany Nanotech Complex, serving as the primary on-site point of contact for visitors and partners, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment; and coordinating project activities for the UPWARDS (University Partnership for Workforce Advancement and Research & Development in Semiconductors) program, including data collection and reporting, managing calls for proposals, expense reporting, and implementation of the summer program.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- 2 or more years in experience in program administration, event coordination, or project management
Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
|
- Experience in office management
- Experience planning events
- Experience interacting with external partners and executive-level visitors
- Familiarity with campus or research-institute administrative processes

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Demonstrated competence in the administration, planning, and implementation of projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with software such as Google Docs, website editing, and/or office management tools

Representative Job Duties:
|
- Support operations and projects in the semiconductor area in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Research. Support operations of the Semiconductor CoLaboratory, and coordinating RPI’s project activities in the University Partnership for Workforce Advancement and Research & Development in Semiconductors (UPWARDS) for the Future Network
- Coordinate and assist with special projects and activities and events/functions, including workshops, visits, and conferences, coordinating preparation, set up, and logistics
- Manage web and social media presence for CMDIS and UPWARDS, including populating and editing website content and posting on social media
- In support of UPWARDS, the Project Administrator will work closely with the Assistant Vice President for Research on tasks including data collection and reporting, managing calls for proposals and student support for travel to partner sites, expense reporting, attending meetings and taking minutes, following up on action items, planning and implementation of the summer intensive program, and preparation of funder reports and presentations
- Support the Semiconductor CoLaboratory, including overseeing the daily operations of the facility, assisting with special events, acting as primary liaison with the landlord, building services, security, and vendors, attending building meetings, and coordinating mail and package deliveries
- Manage scheduling of shared spaces
- Other duties as assigned

|
Use of a personal vehicle for occasional local business travel (non-passenger).

Starting Salary/Rate:
|
Expected hiring range: $62,354 - $65,000
Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
