Job Summary

The Assistant Director for Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for the identification, invitation and enrollment of students into Rensselaer's educational community. The Assistant Director may be assigned a geographical region, a school, a program or an area to develop and implement. In addition, this position will develop and build relationships with community colleges, including their faculty and staff to help build a pipeline of potential transfer students, and educate faculty, staff and students on transfer requirements and transfer opportunities at Rensselaer. The Assistant Director will conduct in-person and virtual information sessions, travel to college fairs or college-based information sessions; and participate in the planning and execution of on-campus events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Two (2) years of professional experience to include demonstrated excellence in customer service, strong computing skills, and experience interacting with the public
  • Valid driver’s license

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in higher education, especially transfer and undergraduate student admissions

Shift

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Travel

Regular overnight travel is required (up to 25%)

Driving

Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $58,700 - $60,000

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
